From vision to reality: Spring projects to support
The Sweden–Latvia Cooperation Fund is proud to support a new round of projects that reflect our mission: to foster deeper understanding, collaboration, and exchange between our two countries. Through our annual grants program, we back initiatives that bring together Swedish and Latvian partners in fields such as culture, education, research, civic engagement, and innovation.
This spring we received a total of 37 applications of diverse and inspiring ideas, showcasing the creativity and commitment of individuals and organizations working to build lasting cross-border connections. After its meeting on May 20 2025, the Board of the Sweden-Latvia Cooperation Fund decided to support the following projects:
#M2503 Inese Rozentāle, a media grant for the Latvian children’s show Tutas Lietas and Tuta’s trip to Sweden. SEK 50 000
#M2504 Iuliia Akhmedova, a media grant for an explorational trip researching the growing cooperation between Sweden and Latvia is shaping the defence policy and public discourse in both countries. SEK 13 600
#P2508 Zacharias Kärnekull Wolfe, a project grant to support Trio Tresensus’ participation in Hjorted. SEK 20 000
#P2511 Rema Kalniņa, a project grant to create “Rooted Together”, a youth-focused cultural exchange connecting Latvian and Swedish traditions through the shared language of the forest. SEK 20 000
#P2512 Ilze Sniega-Sniedziņa, a project grant to o unite young dart players from Latvia and Sweden. SEK 25 000
#P2516 Hugo Ticciati, a project grant fot a Nordic-Baltic orchestra and concerts. SEK 25 000
#P2518 Marcus Lampe, a project grant for the establishment of a pilot for a long-term exchange between the electronic music communities of Sweden and Latvia. SEK 25 000
#P2520 Ieva Niedre, a project grant supporting the development of dramaturgical material for the interdisciplinary performance project Mother. The Sea. SEK 25 000
#T2505 Eva Rubene, a travel grant to support visits in Företagssalongen i Örebro, certain Swedish companies and the LIAA Representative Office in Sweden. SEK 25 000
#T2507 Carl Stenqvist, Hans Iwarsson, Tor Castensson, a travel grant to connect the Swedish sound design studio Plan8 and the Latvian design studio Asketic. SEK 30 000
#T2511 Renāta Kaļivoda, a travel grant to meet with both representatives of the management and healthcare clowns of Swedish association “Clownmedicin” to learn and to share knowledge and experience in running healthcare clowning programme in both Sweden and Latvia. SEK 40 000
A total of SEK 298,600 was allocated.
