Project grants allocated in spring 2024
The Fund´s Board at its meeting on April 15 2024, decided to allocate SEK 335 200 (EUR 29 200) for project applications in the spring season of 2024.
The Fund grants funding twice a year to foster bilateral relations between Sweden and Latvia. This year, a category of applications received concerned the commemorative events since the Baltic refugees arrived by boat in Sweden, named “Gotland - 80 years after”. These include:
the Association of Latvians in Sweden (ZLA) – an event at the Maritime museum in Stockholm, SEK 40 250 (EUR 3500)
Riina Mai Noodapera, - an event in Visby, SEK 55 200 (EUR 4800)
Jekabs Kalnins, a theatre play about the flight to be shown in Latvia, SEK 24 000 (EUR 2090)
Emmeli Malmqvist and Lina Ikse, travelling to participate at the Maritime museum event, SEK 15 000 (EUR 1300) each
Gunta Eneroth, to translate gathered material about the Latvian diaspora to Swedish, SEK 23 000 (EUR 2000)

Kristine Botros, a concert performing compositions by Janis Sipkevics, SEK 23 000 (EUR 2000)
Lars Tunbjörks Stiftelse, photo exhibition, SEK 5 750 (EUR 500)
Hugo Ticciati, orchestral masterclasses and workshops involving movement, dance, improvisation and rehearsals ending in concerts with participants from all Nordic-Baltic countries, SEK 34 500 (EUR 3000)
Pauls Irbins, space career workshop with participants from Sweden and Latvia, SEK SEK 40 250 (EUR 3 500)
Inta Buša, fortifying the bonds between Sweden and Latvia by fostering collaborative learning in entrepreneurship, SEK 23 000 (EUR 2000)
Kristīne Zonberga, anti-burnout in NGO activism and burn-out prevention, SEK 9 200 (EUR 800), declined
Gatis Kalniņš, Latvian scouts and guides will go on a return visit to Sweden after a successful visit to Latvia last year, SEK 57 500 (EUR 5000)
Aleksandra Line, creation of a collaboration strategy between Swedish and Latvian jazz industry hubs, SEK 23 000 (EUR 2000)
Maija Kenedija, participation of Cēsis 1st Elementary School Wind Orchestra at the Linköping Festival, SEK 23 000 (EUR 2000)
Daiga Upeniece, participation in the CODART 25 congress, SEK 5 750 (EUR 500)
Katarina Brieditis and Katarina Evans, exhibition of the project 'Re Rag Rug' at the Rothko Museum in Daugavpils, SEK 11 500 (EUR 1000)
Abbas Sbeity, meeting with Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture Secretariat in Riga, SEK 5 750 (EUR 500)
